Link Crew or Who are Those People In The Blue Vests on Sunday Mornings?

You may have noticed that for the past few months, there have been people wearing blue vests on the grounds between services. I, Louise Armstrong, have been privileged to be one of those people. The purpose of Link Crew is to welcome newcomers, answer questions, and help people find their way around our large campus. Link Crew members seek to be a friendly presence to all who enter FPC whether a first timer, or a long time member.

When Link Crew was formed, I joined thinking that it would be an easy job which requires no skill. So... I could probably do that! All you do is show up and smile. What could be easier? After doing this for several months now, I can assure you that it is an easy and rewarding job. One of the unexpected rewards is that people I don't know have felt free to come up and start talking with me. The result has been many interesting conversations and several new acquaintances. I have also become friends with some others who joined the Link Crew. I cannot think of a "job" in our church which provides more blessing with less effort.  When you see a Blue Vester, feel free to say hello and get to know her/him.You'll be glad you did.

I, Joy Rosik, have been a member of the Link Crew since its beginning. While sometimes I feel like a Walmart greeter, I enjoy welcoming people to FPC I have helped people back cars out of tight places and directed families to the right rooms for their children. The best times have been one on one conversations with those who are going  through  hard times & have come away encouraged by their faithfulness.

I still don't know everyone in the church, but Link Crew gives me a chance to meet and interact with many more members and visitors at FPC.
