If you’ve ever been on the First Pres grounds on a Wednesday night over the last nine years, you’ve no doubt witnessed tons of high energy, loving, busy, and gifted volunteers sharing God’s Word with children in our AWANA program, from three years old and up. You’ve also seen two of the most dedicated and faithful servants in our congregation; Craig and Ruth Hill.

The Hills have spent countless hours serving as Commanders of our AWANA midweek program for each of those nine years. They have loved and led a team of dedicated volunteers who teach and engage students in Bible lessons, help them memorize scripture, pray with their students, conduct super fun and active games, spend time mentoring and phoning students each week, & sharing Christ’s love with them. A week at AWANA doesn’t get off the ground unless Craig Hill yells in his God-given, hugely boisterous voice, “God is good!” to which the kids respond in their thunderous voices, “All the time!”  He then prompts them back: “All the time!” to their “God is good!”

God IS good and He has used Craig and Ruth Hill and their faithful team to disciple many, many children and adults, alike. We have been blessed by their leadership and are grateful for their call to teach our children to know, love, and serve God. As the AWANA program comes to an end in May, we stand and say to Craig, Ruth, and all the beautiful volunteers, bless you, thank you, well done, good and faithful servants!
