Dear First Pres,

Many of you have heard me share about my family. Well, here we are. This vintage photo dates back to the 1983 Woodlake Presbyterian Church photo directory. Things were much different then. There were no cell phones or social media. There wasn’t even email. The church’s database was all kept on hard copy. And, I was far from the tallest person in the family.

Many things have changed over the past 35 years, but the need for congregations to know and love one another well has not. Yes, we have many new technologies to accomplish this now, but the good ol’ Photo Directory is a wonderful snapshot of a church’s life and members.

That’s why we’re engaging in the creation of a new Photo Directory. We long for congregants of all ages to know one another, pray for one another, and care for one another. We believe the Photo Directory can be a helpful tool in that endeavor. But, it will only work if you participate. Please take the time to sign up online or in the courtyard after worship on Sunday.

Meanwhile, here are a few other ways for you to connect in-person:
Tonight's ArtHop displays the work of Computech Middle School's art students. Come, and have the opportunity to eat from Hope Now For Youth's brand new food truck while you're enjoying the art & fellowship. What a great way to support our community on multiple levels.

The Choral Evensong is a one-hour service of worship and praise led by our Chancel Choir and Traditional Worship team happening tomorrow night. It will be a wonderful way for you to center your soul on Jesus at the end of your week. The choir and team have been working hard to get ready for this special event. I encourage you to do something out of the ordinary, come to the Sanctuary to worship on Friday night.

Then, on Sunday morning, if you live anywhere near the Two Cities Marathon route, please plan accordingly for getting to worship on Sunday, and don't forget the time changes. It’s Communion Sunday, so I know you’ll appreciate being in worship together.

Blessings,

Pastor Jeremy
