Dear First Pres,

One of our core values as a congregation is transformational leadership. It’s both a reality and an aspiration. FPC Fresno has long been a community in which people are raised up in leadership within the congregation and for the community at large.

One of the great examples of this over the last few years has been the Men’s Leadership Board (MLB). Led by Dave Peltola, this team of  men in our congregation has taken the lead on all of our men’s ministry events, gatherings and strategies. I’m hugely grateful to Dave, Skip Lynn, Paul Braswell, Keith Walsh, Chester Goodale, and Brad Stevens and their faithful service. It’s been my joy to support, encourage and oversee their work.

Now, I’m excited to introduce a similar team stepping up and in to lead our Women’s Ministry.  At my invitation Elizabeth Rooney and Molly Sargent have moved into co-leadership roles of this newly formed Women’s Leadership Board. This team will be on point for women’s ministry events, gatherings and strategies. They are already engaging with our existing leaders and gathering in new leaders, supporting existing ministries and developing new ones. So, big thanks to Gerre Brenneman, Alisa Zimmerman, Kim Toews and Brittney Slaughter who have agreed to serve on this important team. And, if you’re interested in serving in Women’s Ministry, with the Women’s Leadership Board and its particular teams, please reach out to Elizabeth or Molly. (If you don’t know any of these women, let me know, and I will point you in the right direction).

By the way, men, I’m praying that the Lord stirs in some hearts through this letter to add a few more men to our Men’s Leadership Board. If you’d like to learn more about what that would look like for you, please contact me or Dave Peltola.

Blessings,

Pastor Jeremy
