Dear First Pres,

Dear First Pres,

Dear First Pres,

I walked over to the Fulton Mall for lunch today. Every Thursday there are several food trucks that show up to enhance the cuisine options. It’s always a hopping environment. Today I saw several FPCers enjoying the urban fare. But I noticed something as I walked to and from lunch: it’s getting hot!  Summer is coming.

I know this isn’t news to you, but it does raise some important news for FPC Fresno. Let me give it to you in bullet point form.

 Dear First Pres,

Dear First Pres,

Dear First Pres,

Christ is risen! He is risen, indeed! What a wonderful Resurrection Sunday we experienced together. I am so grateful for all the folks who worked behind the scenes, on the chancel, and all over our campus to make it a wonderful morning at FPC Fresno.  I’m praying today that you are living in the assurance that every promise of God is “yes” in Christ. The empty tomb gives us full confidence that God is faithful and might to fulfill His covenant promises. Praise Him!

Dear First Pres,

It's hard to imagine what it must have been like for Jesus to enter Jerusalem that day. He rode the young donkey through the city gates while the crowds cheered and threw down their cloaks for Him.  Was He pleased? Was He troubled? We just don't know.  All we know is that within the week there was a crowd shouting for his crucifixion, and byFriday afternoon an unusual darkness covered the land because the Son of God hung lifeless on the cross.

Dear First Pres,

Dear First Pres,

Last week I attended the Fresno/Clovis Prayer Breakfast. The featured speaker was the Rev. Dr. David Jeremiah. His message was about prayer (of course); he called us to be praying personally, persistently, and particularly. He wonderfully reminded us that God is not reluctant to give us what we need. Praise be to God who listens to our prayers, works in us through our prayers, and always answers our prayers.

I believe this is a season when we need to be drawing near to the Lord in prayer.  Here's why:
