I’m excited! You may not realize it, but this coming Sunday is shaping up to be a very exciting morning. No, it’s not Palm Sunday or Maundy Thursday or Easter. No, it’s not Communion Sunday. It’s just the fifth Sunday of Lent. But still, this fifth Sunday of Lent in 2023 will mark a new era in the life of our congregation in more ways than one.
Curious? I hope so. And, I hope it’s just another incentive to join your church family for worship on Sunday.

Have you invited the Holy Spirit to lead you today? Have you spent any time meditating on the work of Jesus for your salvation? Have you followed the prompting of the Spirit?

“You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love,” (Galatians 5:13). This was the primary verse for our Scripture reading this past Sunday in worship. We are called to use our Christian freedom to serve one another in love.

Wow! It truly was a Super Sunday. No, I’m not talking about the football game, I’m talking about our fantastic combined worship service and Annual Meeting. If you missed the meeting (or the service) I encourage you to watch or listen to the recordings. A few weeks ago we included an insert in the bulletin called Get Plugged In. It was an invitation for you to find a way to plug in and serve with your church family. As I mentioned in the service, we have some real needs in the life of our congregation for people to step up and in for service. The Get Plugged In sheet wasn’t just a wish list, it was full of actual and existing needs. Did you take some time to pray about it?
