Dear First Pres,

“Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” These are the words of Jesus in Mark 6:31 to His disciples. The invitation (really, it’s in the imperative mood – so a commanded invitation) came in the midst of a very full schedule. The verse starts by reporting that “so many people were coming and going that they (Jesus and His team) did not even have a chance to eat.”

Many of you know that their plan for a retreat didn’t exactly pan out (read Mark 6:32-44), but the invitation of Jesus is still instructive to us. It’s good for us to have a rhythm of stepping out of our normal, everyday routine – interrupting it, really – for the sake of connecting more deeply with Jesus and His people.

Have you prioritized that type of interruption in your life?

That’s exactly what this year’s Women’s Conference (also known as WoCo) is all about. If somehow you’ve missed the news, this year’s WoCo is October 20-22. Yes, that’s only a few weeks away. And, I’m confident, women, that you will benefit from it.
All of us need these kinds of retreats in our lives. Even Jesus prioritized this for Himself and His disciples. It’s more than just a vacation, it’s an intentional break from your everyday life to get closer to Jesus and His people.

So, women, I encourage you, get yourself signed up for WoCo. You won’t regret it.

Blessings,

Jeremy
