Dear First Pres,

A few weeks ago we included an insert in the bulletin called Get Plugged In. It was an invitation for you to find a way to plug in and serve with your church family. As I mentioned in the service, we have some real needs in the life of our congregation for people to step up and in for service. The Get Plugged In sheet wasn’t just a wish list, it was full of actual and existing needs. Did you take some time to pray about it?

The most powerful catalyst for Christian growth in my life has been Christian service. Nothing has forced me to pray and study and lead and learn and grow like Christian service. There have been many great books and classes and retreats and small groups along the way, but Christian service has made the biggest difference.

Of course, that’s only from my own perspective of my own service. I have no idea exactly how the Lord has used my service to encourage others. But, I do know the countless ways I’ve been encouraged by other’s service. My life is so much the result of the church’s (that’s the people who are the church) service to Christ and His people. Even my own service was encouraged, guided, shaped, supervised, corrected and modeled by other people in the church.

So, a very special thank you to the 23 people who have turned in a Get Plugged In form back to the office. We are so grateful for your willingness to serve. Thank you so much! I pray we can get you plugged into service soon.

And, Beloved, if you haven’t really taken time to consider how you might serve in this season, I pray you will prayerfully put this before the Lord. We could really use you.

Finally, don’t forget the Super Sunday schedule: Worship at 9:30 & Annual Meeting at 10:30. You’re not going to want to miss the very special surprise announcement happening at the meeting.
Blessings,

Pastor Jeremy
