The following is a story shared in a recent email update from the Pregnancy Care Center. We share it with permission in hopes that it will encourage you and give you little window on why we love supporting the work PCC does in our community.

A sweet and terrified young woman called panicking about needing an ultrasound. Her situation was desperate and she needed answers on how far along she was. Her due date would determine if this child was conceived willingly or due to a traumatic experience she did not want to remember. She was anxious and in tears when we made her an appointment for a pregnancy test and ultrasound.
In the advocacy room, she poured out her heart, her trauma, her fears and her pain. As a trauma survivor myself, I knew how to hold space for her to share. I could feel the tangible presence of Jesus in the room with us. Undeniably our time was holy work and God ordained. I noticed she was feeling more at peace but then burst into tears again. I asked why the tears and her reply was, “I know God loves me but I’ve never experienced Him like this before. I feel like He is right here in the room with us! I feel His peace. I am scared but I feel like I can get air!” “Yup, that’s Jesus, and He’s all over everything that lined up here today,” I replied. Knowing how she felt first hand, we prayed together before her ultrasound. Our hearts needed to be set on Jesus.
The tension in the ultrasound room was palpable. My client was literally holding her breath when the sonographer started. Maybe we all were, as we anticipated the due date of this baby. With the first measurement, relief filled the room. This baby was conceived outside of the traumatic experience! Then more news flooded the screen. There was not just one, but two babies growing in her womb!
My client walked in our doors full of anxiety, fear and trauma. She walked out those same doors full of peace, anticipation and gratitude. Her brave decision was always to carry to term and the gravity of that decision and her trauma was not lost to us. God brought her to PCC to reveal to her and us, that not only did He protect her from an unwanted pregnancy, but gave her a double blessing in a wanted pregnancy! Through this experience, God called her back to Himself and she rededicated her life to Jesus. I remember her words as she left, “I’ve never been to an office that made me feel so loved, seen and safe. Thank you for not judging me and caring for me like family.” She knew she was loved, not just by us, but more importantly by her Creator.

That's just one of many reasons why we invited you this past Sunday to take home a baby bottle, fill it with change, dollars, and/or checks to support their work.
