By Sarah Raspberry and Rhonda Payne

The students in the Pink House program have participated many curriculum modules since August of 2020. These modules include:

  • Justice, The City, & Christian Community Development
  • Biblical Community
  • Church and the Gospel
  • Reconciliation/Conciliation
  • Relocation/Location
  • Redistribution/Distribution

When asked which module stood out to her the most and why, Sarah Raspberry replied,

The Module that stood out to me most has been Justice, The City, and Christian Community Development. I loved participating in the CCDA conference. Meeting people around the country that were studying the same things we were. A lot of them were in places that aren’t much different from Fresno. They are inspiring!

In addition, she was asked, after learning about the purpose of the church, what is your hope for the church?

   Sarah's response:

After learning about God’s intent for church, my standards have been raised. My hope for the church is for it not be a social club, and for it to reject homogeneity. Let the church not subscribe to a gospel that is comfortable, but one that’s compelling. One of the things we talk about at the Pink House is how the gospel speaks for itself, it is not fragile or frail. Let us not quench the Holy Spirit but loosen the reigns on our ideas of church and let God expand our minds.
