Dear First Pres,

Happy Thanksgiving! This past Sunday we took a few moments in worship to share and give thanks for how we’ve seen the Lord at work in the midst of our congregation. It was an inspiring time to consider all that God has done and is doing. What is it that you see God doing this year for which you can give thanks? I encourage you to write it down, pray about it, and share it.

It seems to me that one of the hallmarks of a person following Jesus is a growing sense of gratitude to the Lord. The more I grow in my faith, the more I realize how absolutely dependent I am upon the Lord. So, let’s make sure this isn’t just a national holiday of Thanksgiving. Let’s make sure that we give glory where glory is due. Let’s make sure we make it a day of thankful testimony to God’s goodness and mercy. Surely, He is at work in and through you.

“Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”  -1 Thessalonians 5:18.

Blessings,

Pastor Jeremy
