Dear First Pres,

A few weeks ago I let you know of the hard work that the Session had been doing to develop the budget for 2014.  We’ll talk in more detail about the budget at our annual meeting in January, but I promised to begin rolling out a few of the important changes in the budget before the year’s end.  One of those changes I am most excited about is the promotion of Meagan Bergem from part-time Jr. High Ministries Intern to full-time Assistant Director of Jr. High Ministries.  We’ve officially offered the promotion to Meagan, and she has accepted with great excitement.  Meagan has demonstrated a tremendous love for Jesus, Jr. High students, and First Presbyterian Church over the last year and a half.  She has also demonstrated a great passion to help our church raise kids to know and love Jesus and be connected with His Church.  Thus, I’m thrilled that we’ve made room in the budget to advance her impact among us.  Please feel free to congratulate Meagan on this accomplishment.  She’ll start in the new role in January.

In other news, have you been asking God about who you should invite to our Christmas Eve celebration?  Rebekah (my daughter) and I were talking at bedtime about this the other night; she asked a wonderful question. “Daddy, how do I invite someone to Christmas Eve?”  You might be wondering the same thing.  Well, this Sunday we’re going to have some tools for you to use in inviting others.  Pay attention during the service for the details.

It’s going to be a wonderful time of worship on Sunday. I can’t wait to see you there.

P.S. Will you please join Rebekah and me as we pray for the person we’ve decided to invite to Christmas Eve services?  Let’s pray for all those to whom we’ll extend invitations; may the Holy Spirit draw them to Jesus.
