Dear First Pres,

She's considering it.  Rebekah took her Christmas Eve invitation card to school; she wrote a nice note on the back inviting her teacher to join our church family on Christmas Eve, and the teacher is considering it.  While she considers it, we'll keep on praying that God draws her to Himself in the same way that He drew the Magi to find Jesus.  And maybe, like the Magi, upon encountering Jesus, she will worship Him.

Have you invited a friend, or a neighbor, or a family member, or workmate?  Have you asked God if there is someone that He wants you to bring?  I hope you will.  On Sunday, many of you took the invitation cards home.  I've been praying this week that God will open up hearts as you use those cards to invite others - not just the hearts of those you invite, but our hearts towards those who have yet to truly encounter the wonderful truth of the Gospel.

Do you remember what it was like when you first came to realize how much God loves you?  Do you remember how it felt when you came to grips with the fact that Jesus died on the cross for the forgiveness of your sins?  Can you think of a time when you really felt God's presence with you?  I hope you'll take some time this week to consider your answers to these questions; I think it'll help you get ready for our worship on Sunday, and help you, like the Bethlehem shepherds, to make room for the Good News of great joy.

 See You Then,
