Dear First Pres,

It’s September, but it sure doesn’t feel like it to me. The kids are in school, but they’re not at school. College football is starting, but there will be no games in Bulldog Stadium this fall. We’re launching new things for FPC but it’s not our traditional school year launch. And instead of transitioning back to our “normal” Sunday morning schedule, we have learned a new normal for worship.

Still, I want to make sure you know about some ongoing or upcoming opportunities for you to connect and grow in faith.

Sunday Morning R.A.P. Class: I know that many of you have truly missed having opportunities to connect and grow during our Education Hour. Did you know that every week there is an online Sunday morning Bible study of the passage used for that morning’s sermon? R.A.P. stands for Reflection, Application, and Prayer. It’s a simple but effective way to approach studying the Bible together with folks at any spiritual level. The class starts at 9am, via Zoom, and finishes just before the start of the 10am live stream worship service. I strongly encourage you to participate in this class. I guarantee that it will enhance the way you hear the sermon each week, and it will be another way to stay connected during this disconnecting season. Check out information for the Zoom Meeting here

Outdoor Worship at 8am: We had a great launch to our outdoor worship service. Thanks to the Reopening Committee and the other volunteers who made it happen. And thanks to all the participants for helping to make it a safe experience. As we continue this worship service, remember it requires a weekly registration. The registration opens each Monday morning at 9am and closes at noon on Friday. You’ll find the registration information here.

There are many other opportunities for connecting and growing with your church. Please look below and on our website for information about Marriage Night, Thursday Morning Women’s Bible Study, Youth and Children’s ministry, a special week of prayer and fasting, and service opportunities.

I know it’s not a normal September, but I still encourage you to be intentional about connecting, growing, and serving in Christ with your church family. How is the Lord calling you to engage this fall?

Blessings,
Pastor Jeremy
