Dear First Pres,

I have 3 things today: an update on CityFest, our new High School Ministry Director, and an opportunity to serve our Valley this Saturday.

First, for the last few weeks, I've been inviting you to pray for The Movement - the youth gathering featuring Andrew Pulau. The Movement happened last night at People's Church and had about 3600 in attendance.  As of this morning, there were 74 recorded first time decisions for Christ and 130 recorded re-dedications to Christ. Praise God! Thanks for your prayers. I believe this is simply a preview of what will happen during the week of March 27 - April 2, when the Fresno CityFest is in full steam. Please begin praying now that this would lead to revival in our Valley. The next big event, of course, is Re:New on November 17 at Save Mart Center. Please add Re:New to your calendars and register online.

Second, we have a new High School Ministry Director! I am very excited to announce to you that Beth Paz has agreed to join our staff to lead our high school ministry. After a nationwide search, God led us to someone already in our pews. As you may know, Beth and her husband, Ivan, are members of our church and have been ministry leaders in our city for many years. Recently, Beth came under care of our Session to discern a call to ordained ministry. And, as of this fall, she is attending seminary in pursuit of her Master of Divinity.  Whenever I say this, it makes me smile; Beth will start as our High School Ministry Director on November 28. Please congratulate Beth when you see her. Please keep our high school ministry leaders and students in your prayers. Please say, "Well done!" to our high school director search team: John Hancock, Laura Spongberg, Mike Galbraith, Sophia Steele, and Bekah Hanson.

Third, this Saturday we need 10 folks to join Deacon Paul Marr for a City Serve project  in the community of San Joaquin. We're partnering with Pastor Juan Flores of Lighthouse Christian Church to serve the tiny community of San Joaquin from 9 am - 12 pm in Jesus' name. The work will include general clean-up around the community. Would you be willing to serve in this way? We need 10 folks to sign up with Paultoday via email or call/text, 960-3983.
