Dear First Pres,

Last night was week 6 of Wednesday Nights @ FPC, and it was a great one. It has been so much fun to see the campus full of every generation in our church. I believe the Lord is really working among us; I believe that He is uniting us in the most important part of our purpose: making disciples. Praise the Lord.

As I left the campus last night, I was tired ... but it was a good tired.  And I was grateful; I was grateful for all the folks that are making WednesdayNights @FPC happen. One of the things that excites me most about what is happening on Wednesday nights is the way that it is engaging so many volunteers in meaningful service to Christ and His Church.

So, thank you! Thank you to the nursery team who takes care of our babies, even when they aren't angelic. Thank you to our kitchen crew who is joyfully serving up a meal for all ages every week. Thank you to our preschool team for teaching the most basic principles about God to our little ones. Thank you to our Jr. High and High School leaders who love well our teens week after week. Thank you to our women's ministry table leaders, hosts, and teachers; I only hear good things about what is happening in the Corner Room. Thank you to our children's ministry team for their energetic service to grow our kids in Christ. And thank you to the men discussion group leaders and Wednesday Night organizers who are leading an unprecedented gathering of men. I am so proud of the many who are serving on WednesdayNights @FPC.

Three years ago this month I came to FPC Fresno. What a privilege it is to join in to such a legacy of faith and help lead us into a powerful future. I love serving this church; I love what God is doing in us and in our city; and I love being part of this community. I believe God is writing a story of healing, renewed trust, and Gospel-centered mission among us. Thanks for allowing me and my family to be part of it.

Blessings,

Jeremy

P.S. This Sunday is Reformation Sunday. It's the one Sunday each year when we join with thousands of other churches in celebrating the courage of those reformers some 500 years ago. Our Presbyterian heritage is connected with the Scottish reformation. Therefore, it would be appropriate to wear your favorite tartan on Sunday (that's what the piper will be wear).
