Dear First Pres,

WednesdayNights@FPC was one of my highlights of 2015.  I loved see so many engaged in relationship, leadership/service, and discipleship.  On Saturday morning at our Men’s Breakfast several of the guys shared how impactful it was for them to be part of Wednesday nights.  Some especially appreciated the study, others appreciated the chance to deepen relationships more broadly in the congregation, and some loved serving our kids. I was especially encouraged by these powerful testimonies among the men because I know they are representative of many who participated in the fall.

Now we’re ready to launch again. WednesdayNights@FPC is starting again on January 20; that’s this Wednesday!  I can’t wait!  I continue to believe that these Wednesday night gatherings are incredibly important as we seek to grow deep and wide.  They provide opportunities for us to engage together in growing as disciples of Christ. They provide opportunities for us to deepen our relationships and connections beyond our own generation or circle of friends. And they provide opportunities for us to be catalyzed into a deeper level of engagement together in the mission of God to our city.

Thus, I hope every single First Pres person will take some time to seriously consider being part of WednesdayNights@FPC.  Come to serve (we still have a few spots needing to be filled) or participate.  I think you’ll be better for it, and so will your church.

You can sign-up on Sunday morning.  But since you’re already reading this email on your electronic device, why don’t you click here to sign up online? You can even pay for your books online. I encourage you to sign up soon; January 20 will be here next week.

Blessings,

P.S. I want you to mark your calendars for a special event coming at the end of February.  We’ve invited a special speaker to come for the weekend of Feb. 26-28. His name is Rev. Ken Priddy, and he’s going to be leading us in a critical conversation about church vitality.  I know you’ll enjoy Ken, and I think you’ll find his material insightful, relevant, and challenging.  More details will be forthcoming, but please mark your calendars for Feb. 26-28.  We’ll call it our Church Vitality Weekend.
