Welcome to Rooted High School Ministry
Our mission is for high school students to know Jesus, and through community to grow deeply rooted in faith in order to engage in the Gospel in their everyday life.
“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. Colossians 2:6-7
Rooted youth group welcomes you to join us at any event or activity! Our team exists to come alongside high schoolers and provide a safe space for their development in a positive community. We focus on building a fun and safe community in which to dive into Bible Study and its practical application to our lives (including diving into the hard stuff!), service and love for others, and moving our whole lives towards alignment with the heart of God. Our prayer is for every student to feel God’s love and find a place to belong at Rooted!
Rooted D-Groups (Discipleship Group) are a small group of 8-10 students that meets weekly on Sunday morning during Ed Hour (9:40-10:45am). Every student who visits or attends our ministry are placed in an (inter-class, same gender) D-group, led by a Youth leader. These groups are designed for students to have deeper relationships within the youth group, and cultivate a space that invites belonging, sharing, prayer, accountability and deeper relationship with God. The goal is to create a passion for Jesus in the students beyond casual participation and invite them to actively share Christ’s love and redemption with others. We hope to equip them with the tools to succeed and grow into rooted Christ followers.
Rooted Youth Group meets every Wednesday night from 6:30-8pm in “The Commons” at FPC. Our theme of “Rooted” will carry over into specific topics integrated into our “H-3 Strategy.” Moving from head to heart to hands, we cover topics that address: apologetics, sexuality and relationships, decision-making, the life and teachings of Jesus, mental health, leadership, evangelism, culture, purpose and identity. We connect through games, laughter, snacks, celebrating birthdays, worship and singing, Bible Study and discussion. Our prayer is that every student leaves encouraged, oriented towards Jesus and feeling a deep sense of belonging in Christ.
Equipping and supporting High School parents is important to us. We know that parents are the primary influence on their youth and we are here to partner with you! Monthly newsletters are sent out to encourage parents, and inform them of upcoming events and activities. We ask that you tangibly support our ministry (food/host/pray/drive) once a semester for a more effective ministry!
