There are a variety of activities that fall under the umbrella of our Neighbors aRe Us ministry team. All of them are born out two commitments: 1.  To seek to be a blessing to the neighborhood(s) nearest our church building; and 2. To do that in partnership with other churches and ministries. NRU activities include:

1. Monthly Dinners on the 4th Thursday (usually): Volunteers set tables, prepare food, host tables (sit with guests), or help serve this family-style meal. The meal is followed by an optional Worship Service/Bible Study for adults with a program for elementary kids and care and games for the younger ones. It's a sweet time!

2. Holiday Pantry Food Boxes: Each December we distribute basic food supplies to approximately 150 families. It's not a meal, it's help with meals for the 3 weeks of school break. The names of the families are given to us by our community partners and we prepare the boxes according to the size of the family. Box assembly, sponsorship and distrbution are great opportunities for jumping into this ministry.

3. City Bible Adventure: This is a collaborative Vacation Bible School that involves FPC, Bethany Inner City Church, On Ramps Convent Church, Youth for Christ and Hope Now Bible Church. It's a wild and wonderful week.

FPC leadership for Neighbors aRe Us includes Merlene Samuelian and Jean Chaffee.
